Samsung Galaxy S2 specs leaked

The details of the follow up to the successful Samsung Galaxy S smartphone have been leaked by two online retailers.

Pocketnow reports that eXpansys published the S2’s tech spec, which ran as follows: A 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.3 inch WVGA AMOLED display, an 8 megapixel camera (capable of full 1080p recording) and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. NFC and an HDMI output will also be on board.

However, the retailer then contacted Pocketnow to say that this was just speculative information on a product holding page, and not the confirmed hardware specification.

But another online retailer, Mobilefun has also published specs (spotted by T3) which concur with the above in terms of the processor, camera and NFC capabilities (although a front-facing camera isn’t mentioned).

So it seems likely that these specs are pretty close to the truth of the Samsung Galaxy S2. At any rate, we’ll find out tomorrow, when Samsung officially unveils the phone, and other goodies such as the Galaxy Tab 2, at Mobile World Congress.

Motorola has a formidable fight ahead, regardless the consumer always wins in these situation.

  2. phill says:

Nokia and other phone makers for years pumped out the same rubbish. Each time just increasing the specs slightly of each new phone they brought out.

    It’s happening again.

It seems Apple is the only company capable of innovation.

A phone is not all about ever increasing specs, its about usability, features that you actually need. Not just specs to make them sound good.

No doubt Apple will keep up the innovation and all other phone companies will just copy Apple.

God forbid if Apple ever stops creating new things.

@phill, you are clueless. Apple did not invent anything.

As a matter of fact, all companies take something from somewhere and try to make it better…Apple is no different.

Look at every version of the iPhone. Hardware upgrades everytime. iPhone will probably have a dual core as well.

Don’t even try the “features” argument. iPhone users have the least of that. I wanted to be able to change my battery with ease for a long time. I’ve wanted to add more memory for a long time and the list goes on and on. Do you need facetime? Heck no. Try thinking for yourself instead of letting Steve Jobs tell you what you need and don’t need.

Got 3 minutes with a Samsung Galaxy S II yesterday. Nice phone, but isn’t the S III just around the corner?

  6. Compadre says:

The only thing apple is good at is borrowing cutting edge implementations from the open source community putting a patent on it and marketing the Jesus out of it. Why do you think you see iJunk in every Hollywood movie? and who do you think pays for that marketing in the end?
The other sole strategy of Apple is to be 1st on the market with less features and higher price. No wonder they lost the market share. Last 2 years all the do is try to keep up with Android :)
