Google’s latest doodle has been drawn in honour of St David’s Day.

St David is, of course, the patron saint of Wales. It is believed that he died on this day back in 589 AD.

The doodle is a fairly minimalist affair, keeping the search company’s logo the same except for the second G, which is dressed up in a dapper Welsh hat, and wearing a daffodil, the emblem for the day.

Celebs have been out in force wishing everyone the best for the day. Top Twitterer Stephen Fry tweeted to his two million plus followers: “Happy St David’s Day x”.
