Vodafone network back up after major outage

As we reported yesterday, the Vodafone network was down for many in the south after burglars struck at a technical facility in Basingstoke on Sunday night.

The criminals stole and damaged specialist network hardware and computers, leaving an estimated several hundred thousand customers without service.

However, according to a report on the Wall Street Journal, Vodafone says that all services have now been resumed for those who were left out in the cold.

Having said that, it seems that there are still complaints on the network operator’s official forum from customers who claim they’re still having issues.

Just fifteen minutes ago, one poster wrote: “When will services be restored? I can’t receive or make calls and texts. Only have the mobile. Am starting a new job this morning, but haven’t been able to speak to my boss to let me know where I have to be, so still just sitting at home.”

Perhaps there are still a few black spots out there which need attention…
