New Zelda: Skyward Sword trailer revealed

March 4, 2011

Nintendo have just released a brand new trailer for the upcoming Zelda game for the Wii, ‘Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword’.

The new trailer is strictly a game play trailer, however it is longer then the original trailer and shows a lot more detail about the game. The original trailer was more a way of telling fans that the game was in production.

The news for the trailer came via Nintendo’s president, Satoru Iwata. Iwata has stated that “Mr Miyamoto is working on a plan that will allow all Zelda lovers to celebrate together”. This same sentence was said about the release of ‘Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D’.

The release of the game is meant to coincide with Zelda’s 25th anniversary later this year.

Unlike most Zelda game’s which are usually sequels to Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, mostly revolving around Princess Zelda and the evil desert dweller, Ganondorf, Skyward Sword is in fact a prequel to Ocarina Of Time.

Link appears in the game in a land called Skyloft, a group of islands that are afloat in the sky. Discovering a sword known as the Skyward Sword (which is the original Master Sword), Link travels to a land below ruled by evil forces.

Using the Skyward Sword, Link travels back and forth from both world, attempting to figure out why the worlds were separated.

The new trailer shows all of Links new abilities and gadgets in the game, and it can be found on Youtube.
