Two months after the developer beta was pushed out, Apple has released iOS 4.3 for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
The full release of version 4.3 comes a couple of days ahead of schedule (although there were actually rumours that it would arrive yesterday). So what do iGadget owners have to look forward to with the refreshed OS?
Airplay enhancements for starters, the wireless tech which lets you stream from your Apple device to your HDTV, via the Apple TV box. iOS 4.3 allows you to stream video over Airplay.
iTunes home sharing means you can stream iTunes media onto your iPad or iPhone, from a PC or Mac via wi-fi.
Faster Safari performance is also promised, along with an adjustment to the iPad side switch. This can be reverted to a hardware rotation lock as it was before iOS 4.2, or you can keep it as a mute switch. Either option can now be selected in the iPad’s settings menu.
Finally, the iPhone 4 has had a personal wi-fi hotspot capability introduced, allowing users to share their phone’s 3G connection with a computer, laptop or tablet via wi-fi.
iOS 4.3 is compatible with the iPad and iPad 2, iPhone 3GS and 4, and iPod Touch third-gen or better.
