George Hotz, the infamous PS3 hacker, has apparently left the country.
George has Hotz-footed it from the US to South America, according to Sony’s lawyers. This comes via a report on TechEye.net, in the wake of the legal action Sony has initiated against him and others responsible for cracking the security of the PS3.
Sony’s legal team reckon Hotz handed over two dud hard drives, violating a court order, and then fled the country.
Hotz’s lawyer claims that the hard drives were merely missing the controller card, which George has since provided.
And Hotz himself has posted on his blog explaining that while it’s true he is in South America, he has taken a long-planned vacation and is coming back soon.
Hotz wrote: “I have been in contact with my lawyers almost every day; I would not let the case suffer. That said, I also won’t let this ridiculous lawsuit run my life either. Then the fearmongerers win.”
He then cheekily ends his post: “I will be back, I hear it’s hard to come by the Xperia Play down here.”
