Seven people already queueing for the iPad 2

by Darren Allan

Let the queueing stories commence – this time it’s the UK’s turn, after two weeks ago when the US saw some major round-the-block affairs, many who went home disappointed when stocks ran out.

However, seven people are already in the queue at Apple’s Regent Street flagship store, determined that they won’t be going away empty handed tomorrow.

They’ve got almost 24 hours to wait still, as the iPad 2 isn’t on sale until 5pm tomorrow thanks to an Apple shipping faux-pas.

The chap at the head of the queue is a certain Jules Lewis, the Guardian reports (although some other papers are spelling his name “Jewels”). He arrived at 7.30am this morning, so will have had a 33 and a half hour wait by the time he gets to buy the tablet sequel.

At least he isn’t auctioning his spot in the line to the highest bidder, unlike the first placed person in the queue at the New York flagship store a fortnight ago. He actually wants to buy an iPad 2, astonishingly enough.
