Battlefield 3 “Fault Line” trailer unleashed

The twelve minute Battlefield 3 gameplay trailer has gone live.

You can see it in its full glory at the Battlefield Facebook page. Yesterday, DICE were prepared to unveil it early if they got a million Likes on the page, but the counter only made 832,000 as of this morning.

The hunt for thumbs-ups is still on, though, as the video with the producer’s commentary will be unlocked when the page hits a million Likes.

The clip is well worth watching, showing off some awesome visuals and destructible environments. The attention to detail is particularly impressive, not just in the graphics and animations of the troops, but the ambient background noises of the city, and authentic chatter between the marines.

Atmosphere is a key element in gaming, and Battlefield 3 appears to have it in spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs, with a couple of jokers thrown in for good measure.

Roll on the autumn, when Battlefield 3 comes out on PC, Xbox and PS3. Between this and Skyrim, we don’t see ourselves getting much done in November…

Certainly does look very impressive – might need to upgrade my graphics card, though as it looks like whatever you use is going to take a heavy pounding. :)
