Good news for Samsung Galaxy S owners, or at least those on Vodafone.

The network has confirmed that it will soon be making an update to Android 2.3 available for the popular smartphone.

It comes just a fortnight ahead of the launch of the successor, the Galaxy S II, in the UK, which will roll out with Gingerbread on board.

TechRadar reports that the enhancements which will come to the Galaxy S with the update will include a streamlined user interface, better power management, the ability to switch to 2G mode, and the new Android keyboard (with easy copy and paste).

Why do Vodafone customers get it before those of us with a rather more pricy unlocked phone then? What’s up with that!
