The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc came in two standard colours, silver and midnight blue. Until now, that is, with Orange having just unleashed an exclusive black version of the handset.
It’s a rather flash looking glossy piano black finish, with the smartphone coming for free if you take on a fairly hefty £40 per month two year contract (with 1200 minutes and unlimited texts).
If you want to go more budget oriented, then you can drop to £30 per month (with 500 minutes and unlimited texting), but pay an up-front fee of £100. The bottom budget line is £20 per month (200 minutes, unlimited texts) although you’ll have to stump up £200 for the handset itself.
The Xperia Arc runs Android Gingerbread and boasts a Bravia-powered 4.2 inch touchscreen. The slim smartphone (with a profile of less than 1cm) also has a 1GHz processor, an 8 megapixel camera, and it supports Orange’s HD Voice service too.
A pink version of the Arc was released in Japan back in February, although it isn’t known whether that more feminine colour scheme will make it over to the UK.
