Portal 2 stays top of UK game chart

Portal 2 is at the top of the all-format UK game chart for a second week running (according to Chart Track).

The number two spot remains held by Mortal Kombat, although sales of both games were down considerably on last week (51% and 42% respectively).

None of this week’s new releases remotely troubled these giants, or even the top ten at all, with the highest new entry being Sega’s Virtua Tennis 4 which was in at number twenty-three.

Zumba Fitness (which was top of the tree before Portal 2) moved back up to number three due to the release of the PS3 version (which didn’t have nearly the same impact as the Wii version, unsurprisingly).

Operation Flashpoint: Red River moved up nicely for Codemasters to occupy the number four spot, followed by Black Ops (which is still selling after all this time) and Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

The number seven spot was held by FIFA 11 – another game which refuses to leave the top ten – with Wii Fit Plus at number eight, then Homefront.

Another top ten regular of the last six months rounds off the chart, Just Dance 2.

Sega’s other new release this week, Thor: God of Thunder, failed to even make the top forty.
