HTC Sensation now on pre-order with Vodafone

by Darren Allan

Vodafone has the initial exclusive on the HTC Sensation, and the company has just put the smartphone on pre-order with a release date of May 19th.

The handset will come free on a £35 per month two year contract, with 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of data.

The low-end plan costs £25 per month, but charges an up-front fee of £199 for the phone itself and only offers 100 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB of data.

The middle road between those two is the £30 per month deal, with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data, and an up-front fee of £99.

The Sensation is a dual-core 1.2GHz powered Gingerbread smartphone with a 4.3 inch display, and an 8 megapixel camera which does full 1080p recording (and also boasts a dual LED flash). There’s a front-facing camera for video chatting, as well.

The 16:9 widescreen (960 x 540 resolution) display can be used to view streaming movies from the HTC Watch service on board, or you can pipe them out to an HDTV from the handset.

It’s a nicely specced smartphone and all the other major networks intend to stock it after Vodafone has had its month exclusive on the device.
