The handset which helped stoke HTC’s surge of success in the smartphone market, the Desire, is finally going to cease production.
That’s no great surprise given that the Desire HD and then the Desire S were brought out, although this isn’t an official announcement from HTC.
Rather online retailer Clove broke the news on its blog page, noting that the original model is likely to sell out soon, as the company has been informed there will be no more HTC Desire handsets shipping to the UK.
Clove still has graphite and white models left, apparently, and you can bag yourself a white Desire for £262.
The Desire comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, and a 1GHz processor running Android 2.1 (although that can be updated OTA to Froyo as soon as you get the handset).
