Acer has announced that the H5360BD, a DLP projector which does 3D, is now up for grabs.
The device has DLP 3D Ready technology with a native 1280×720 resolution (720p), 16:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports True 24p, so it’s capable of displaying 1080p material at 24fps (but interpolated).
Furthermore the H5360BD supports HDMI 1.4a to hook up your Blu-ray player, console or PC. The unit is rated at 2500 ANSI Lumens, so nice and bright for those 3D images, and a 3200:1 contrast ratio is claimed.
Display technology includes Acer ColorBoost II+ for more natural and balanced colours, and ColorSafe II to protect against colour decay over prolonged usage. Wall colour-compensation is also provided for those projecting onto a coloured surface.
Acer says the lamp will give you 4,000 hours of viewing and EcoProjection technology, another of Acer’s added features, means in standby mode power consumption is reduced by up to 80%.
The Acer H5360BD comes with a five year warranty on the DLP chip, one year on the lamp, and perhaps the biggest selling point, a competitive RRP of £750 for a 3D home projector. You can pick it up for less than this online, too, if you shop around a bit.
