Activision has announced the world premiere of its Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer feature for early September.
6,000 fans of the hit first person shooter franchise are expected to arrive in Los Angeles for the convention, running from September 2nd-3rd.
Activision has described the introduction of ‘Call of Duty XP 2011’ as a “celebration for the game’s community.”
As well as a look at the new gaming features, attendees will also get a first-hand viewing of the Call of Duty Elite service that was announced in May.
Elite is set to help build the community of CoD gamers with a host of social networking features.
Besides showing off their new product, the event will also give the fans a number of fun activities to get involved in.
First off is a $1 million Call of Duty tournament, with players able to enter either on-site or at one of the many regional Black Ops contests leading up to the convention.
There will also be a paintball competition for players to get involved with on life-sized multiplayer maps, as well as panel discussions with the developers of the game.
Those unable to make it won’t miss out either, with Activision promising a “constant stream” of videos, photos and other features throughout the event.
Modern Warfare 3 is due for release on November 8th in the UK.
