If you’re a fan of Channel 4’s news coverage and have an Apple device, you’ll be interested to hear that a free iOS app is due tomorrow which will bring you C4’s reporting in mobile form.

iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners can use the app to keep up to date with the most popular bits of the C4 News website, including the daily “Snowblog” (Jon Snow’s blog) and catch-up videos of the past week’s worth of stories from the TV broadcast news programmes.

Naturally, the current day’s news will also be covered, with the top domestic and international stories highlighted, plus the spheres of politics, science, business and culture rounded-up.

Content will also be available offline, and furthermore iPad owners will have access to special reports and galleries. All of which can be easily shared via email or social networking using integrated links.

Paul Brannan, Senior Programme Editor of Online at Channel 4 News, commented: “We know our audience, and in particular many of our website users, are very tech-savvy and increasingly, want to engage with Channel 4 News through social media and through their mobile devices.”

“We’re happy that this app will deliver that to them in a way that highlights the best of our original journalism.”

While the iOS app is out tomorrow, work is also underway on an Android version, so Google OS owners aren’t going to miss out (although no release date has been mentioned for that yet).
