ViewSonic has launched a refreshed range of PJD5 projectors designed for both home and business use.
The new models benefit from a more streamlined design, with the profile being reduced by around 20%.
The units weigh in at 2.6kg and are generally more compact, with a top cover lamp access design. There are five models in the range, two of which boast SVGA resolution, two with XGA and one utilising WXGA.
Lamp brightness has been enhanced, too, with ViewSonic quoting it as 2700 lumens, and BrilliantColour technology promises to deliver an image with some vibrancy.
The PJD5133, PJD5233 and PJD5523w models come with HDMI on board, and every device in the range is 3D ready, capable of accepting a 120Hz input from Sky 3D, 3D Bluray, or your PS3 console.
Although you will need the ViewSonic VP3D1 video processor for 3D viewing, which will set you back another £250 or so. Not to mention the relevant glasses – ViewSonic recommends its own eyewear, naturally, the PGD-250.
Trevor Holt, European Product Manager for Projectors, commented: “This is the 2nd generation of 5 series projectors which we have improved based on customer feedback.”
“We have made subtle but important changes, such as introducing a built in presentation timer, mouse control function via the projector remote control and enhanced security with Kensington slot and security bar.”
As for pricing, the range starts at £300, so you can pick up something on a pretty tight budget.
