A new downloadable content pack for the PlayStation’s Little Big Planet 2 is set to be released, with the focus on the popular Toy Story franchise.

LBP2 developer Media Molecule made the announcement via its official website, with the release set for Wednesday August 3rd.

Costumes based on the characters from Toy Story will become available, including those representing the likes of space ranger Buzz Lightyear, pig Hamm, dog Slinky and dinosaur Rex.

Also to be included in the pack is a Toy Story Level Kit, which will include Toy Story themed stickers and various objects.

The Toy Story films, created by Pixar, have grossed over $1.9 billion globally, making a huge amount of money given the budget of $320 million.

The third, and what is expected to be the final film (until the reboot in 2020 - ed), was released last summer to critical acclaim.

Media Molecule recently made the announcement that it would be taking a step back from the production of Little Big Planet, which is available exclusively to the PS3.

The reasons given included the fact that they now want to focus on new challenges, and that they feel the change could prevent the games from going stale.

The co-founder of Media Molecule, Alex Evans, promised to continue supporting the series despite it no longer being a primary focus. Let’s hope that isn’t a little big lie.
