Zumba Fitness continues its run – or should that be dance – at the top of the UK all-format game chart.
In fact it has been top for seven weeks in a row, and ten weeks in total this year. Meaning, rather incredibly, it’s managed to beat Modern Warfare 2 (which spent nine weeks at the top), and is joint fifth in the all-time ranking of games which have spent the most time at the top of the all-format chart.
As we’ve pointed out before, though, this period of domination has been throughout the summer dry season for games (as opposed to MW2 which dominated throughout the run-up to Christmas, the most competitive period).
Once again, there weren’t any big new releases, with the highest new entry being The Sims 3 expansion Town Life which came in at number twelve.
Cars 2 from Disney doubled up its sales to shoot to number two, displacing Call of Juarez: The Cartel down to number three. Just Dance 2: Extra Songs also shot up the chart to number four.
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean found itself at number five, followed by Dirt 3 which moved back up the top ten slightly, and then Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. FIFA 11 continued to hold on in the top ten, moving up slightly to number eight.
The chart was rounded off by another two long term residents, LA Noire and Black Ops.
