ViewSonic has announced the imminent release of a new monitor which is kitted up to be fully Nvidia 3D-ready.
The V3D245 is a 24 inch full HD (1920×1080) 120Hz panel which comes with an integrated Nvidia 3D Vision wireless emitter and 3D Vision glasses.
It’s an LED display with a brightness rating of 300 nits and 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast for a claimed great colour accuracy.
A 2ms response time is also promised, so theoretically there should be little ghosting when it comes to gaming, with the 120Hz display also making fast shooters smoother – again, in theory (and providing your rig can push out 120fps in the latest games at full HD).
Ports include an HDMI 1.4 input so you can also hook this up to your PS3 or Blu-ray 3D player for more three dimensional fun. That’s on top of the 550 3D games which are on offer for those with an Nvidia Geforce graphics card boasting PC.
Integrated speakers are here too, again making this more TV-like, although we wouldn’t expect too much from the 2 Watt rated SRS audio solution.
Phil Eisler, General Manager of 3D Vision at Nvida, enthused: “Gamers, movie buffs and photo enthusiasts will love moving up to 3D. And there’s no better way to do so than with ViewSonic’s V3D245 3D monitor, with its built-in NVIDIA 3D Vision technology, which produces the most immersive and crystal clear 3D images.”
“Set-up is quick and easy. Simply connect the monitor to your NVIDIA GeForce graphics card, put on the included NVIDIA 3D Vision glasses, and start enjoying games, videos and photos in a whole new way.”
The ViewSonic V3D245 comes with a three year warranty, 3D glasses and emitter, and is priced up at $499 in the US, due for release later this month. Hopefully it will make its way over here shortly after.
