Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was the biggest surprise in this week’s video games charts, as the first person shooter topped the Xbox 360 chart.
The game’s sequel, Battlefield 3, is due out in the UK on October 28th and recent PR events seem to have catapulted Bad Company 2 back up the rankings.
The game from EA was released last year and jumped six spots in the charts in order to claim the top position.
Last week’s number one, Dirt 3, dropped down into second place but remained top of the PS3 charts yet again.
Brink, FIFA 11 and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean rounded off the top five in the Xbox charts whilst LA Noire, Zumba Fitness, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Call of Juarez: The Cartel and Skate 3 all made the top ten.
There was no such luck for Battlefield over in the PS3 chart as it failed to even make the top ten. However, competing war shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops made number six in the PS3 charts, behind LA Noire (2nd), Mortal Kombat (3rd), Brink (4th) and InFamous 2 (5th).
As expected, The Sims once again dominated the PC chart as four of EA’s life simulation titles made the top five – with only Football Manager 2011 separating them in third place.
