Major Nelson has let slip the news that a classic slice of nineties hedgehog powered ring collecting, Sonic CD, will be making an appearance on Xbox Live Arcade.
Major - real name Larry Hryb, Director of Programming for Xbox Live - posted a list of the video games that will be presented at this week’s Penny Arcade Expo.
Near the bottom of that list is the title Sonic CD, although nothing has previously been announced and Sega has refused to confirm that the port will be coming to Microsoft’s console.
Sega released a statement to say: “We don’t have any details at this time, but we’ll be sharing some more information soon.”
Sonic CD has previously been ported to the PC, and appeared in compilations on the PS2 and GameCube, but has never seen the light of day on the Xbox.
In other Xbox Live Arcade news, Microsoft has announced a new set of avatar costumes for users to customize their characters with.
The fresh set has a RoboCop theme and will be arriving on the Live Marketplace this Thursday (August 25th).
The pack contains a RoboCop suit, a number of T-shirt designs and even two RoboCop sidekicks.
A price is yet to be announced by Microsoft.
