A video game based on the hit movie franchise Jurassic Park has had a new release date confirmed, after its initial expected release in April was considerably delayed.
Xbox owners will be required to purchase the retail version of the boxed game, whereas PC and PS3 owners will be able to download a digital copy.
The original plan was to release the title in five separate episodes, but they’ve now all been rolled into one game, and that goes for both the boxed Xbox copy, and downloadable PC and PS3 versions.
Jurassic Park: The Game is based primarily on the first film, and aims to recreate its suspenseful atmosphere, as well as accurately modelled dinosaurs. And naturally you’ll encounter the terrifying T-Rex at some point.
Telltale Games, the developer of the game, has stated that an iPad version of the game will also become available to purchase – but couldn’t give a specific release date yet.
The game was originally meant to launch in April, but was delayed as TellTale believed that they were best off moving in a new direction.
At the time, CEO Dan Connors said: “The game’s mechanics and storytelling have come together in such a way that we see great potential, so much so that we feel we can push these elements to the next level if we spend some extra time working on them.”
Let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint this autumn.
