The Xbox Live Marketplace is set to receive two of the most popular fighting video games for download, Microsoft has confirmed.

First of all, a remake of the legendary Street Fighter – entitled Street Fighter III 3rd Strike – will be released today on XBL.

Then a week today, on August 31st, a trio of Mortal Kombat games will be released in a bundle pack named Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection. This will contain Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3.

The pack will cost Xbox Live users 800 MS points (around £7), and the three games will all come together – it won’t be possible to purchase them all individually.

Also arriving today is the new Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack, entitled Rezurrection, which will cost 1200 MS Points.

In other Xbox news, Gears of War 1 and 2 will also see a temporary price cut go live today.

As well as these full games Microsoft has also released a number of demo versions for some of its most anticipated forthcoming titles. Namely Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and NHL 12.

Space Marine is another spin off from the strategy based, third-person action games of the Warhammer franchise, and is due for release on September 9th. NHL 12 is the latest installment in EA’s ice hockey series which has been going for donkey’s years.
