Sony has announced a price cut of a hundred PSP titles available for digital download, in what the company has dubbed a “Power Sale” promotion.

50 different video games are currently part of the offer, including hits such as Grand Theft Auto, Street Fighter and Assassin’s Creed.

The deal will expire on September 7th when a second batch of 50 games will become available at a cheaper price – specific details of the games involved have not yet been revealed.

Last week, Sony announced plans to bring out a cheaper, alternative PSP version ahead of the handheld console’s forthcoming successor – the PS Vita.

As a part of this promotion, Sony is offering games such as GTA: Vice City for as little as £6.29, which is the same price for another title in the GTA series – Liberty City Stories.

The price of Tekken 6 has been halved from £15.99 to £7.99.

Other titles include the Prince of Persia series, which sees all three games receive a cut – Rival Sword and Revelation are available at £6.29, whereas The Forgotten Sands will now cost £11.99.

Game adaptations of movies are also a part of the plan, with Avatar now available at £7.99 and Iron Man coming down to £6.29 (we hope it’s better than the pants PC version, but we doubt it somehow – ed).
