The Xbox 360’s game sales chart has seen two debut titles head straight to the top of the rankings, knocking last week’s top dog Deus Ex down to fourth.
Dead Island entered at number one and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine just behind it, to make up the top two spots. In the PC chart, those positions were reversed.
The two also performed reasonably well in the PS3 chart, with Dead Island finishing second behind Resistance 3 – and Warhammer ending up fourth, behind third placed Driver: San Francisco.
Driver also made an impression on the 360 list as it managed third place.
The Deus Ex title, Human Revolution, has sold well for two weeks, but this week slipped down to fifth place on the PS3.
Both console systems saw good sales for three sporting games, as Rugby World Cup 2011 (5th on 360, 6th on PS3), Madden NFL 12 (10th and 7th respectively) and NHL 12 (6th and 8th) were all present.
The rest of the top ten on the Xbox 360 chart included Lego Pirates of the Caribbean (7th), followed by the Kinect powered horror outing Rise of Nightmares and then Dirt 3.
Whilst the PS3 rankings saw Call of Duty: Black Ops drop five places to ninth, and Mortal Kombat finish with the tenth highest sales numbers.
