Forza 4, the next instalment in the Xbox exclusive driving franchise, is set to hit the streets a week on Friday.
And naturally enough, a demo has been put together and now released onto Xbox Live, although it’s exclusive to gold members, sadly for those of you who don’t subscribe.
So what’s in the demo? It features one hilly but wide track which runs through the Alps, with three very different cars to test drive on it.
There’s the speedy contemporary Ferrari 599 GTO and Subaru WRX STI, along with the Mercury Cougar Eliminator, a retro American blast from the seventies.
You can also check out the rivals mode in the demo, which allows you to go up against your friend’s best lap times and attempt to beat them, unlocking rewards if you do so.
Of course, perhaps most exciting of all if you have Microsoft motion control system, you get to try out Kinect, which is supported by the driving game. It lets you use head tracking to look around, so you can look towards the apex of a corner as you begin to turn into it.
The demo will require 1.3GB of space on your Xbox’s hard drive.
Forza 4 is set for release on October 14th, with over 80 car manufacturers included in the game, and more social features than Forza 3 (such as that rivals mode). Hundreds of hours of gameplay are promised in the main career world tour mode.
