A video of a 7 inch Motorola Android tablet has been leaked to This Is My Next.
One of the most striking aspects the clip illustrates is that the slate is incredibly thin. In fact, it’s thinner than Motorola’s Xoom (pictured), and while the smaller display size means the viewing experience may not be as pleasurable, the 16:9 ratio is ideal for movie playback.
And of course, given its more compact nature and thinner form factor, the device will certainly be lighter.
Chris Ziegier from This Is My Next noted that the upcoming 7 inch slate will be running the popular Android Honeycomb OS.
With the smaller 7 inch touchscreen Motorola is trying to target this device to consumers who want portability, which is a definite switch in emphasis from the large, iPad-sized Xoom.
In addition there is likely to be micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports on board. The look of this tablet is very sleek and attractive with its white edges and angled corners.
However, if the final Motorola tablet is made to be super-thin then this might be a popular portable offering from the firm, and could do better than the Xoom which has only fared so-so in terms of sales.
