Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has made it three weeks running at the top of the UK all-format game chart.
That’s something that Black Ops didn’t manage this time last year, as Gran Turismo 5 knocked it off the top after just two weeks. Although it did reclaim the top spot the very next week and ended up being Christmas number one, with five out of its initial six weeks spent at number one.
We’d imagine Modern Warfare 3 will be Xmas number one as well.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations stayed at number two, even though its sales fell heavily to the tune of around 60%.
There was some movement in the top five, however, with Skyrim slipping to number four, and Saint’s Row: The Third overtaking it to move into the number three spot.
FIFA 12 was next and then WWE 12 managed the highest new entry at number six. There was another new entry at seven for Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call, while Just Dance 3 shifted up a couple of places to eight.
Battlefield 3 slid down to number nine, and Super Mario 3D Land slipped a place to number ten.
There were a couple of other movers in the top twenty, with Moshi Monsters: Moshling Zoo zipping up from eighteen to number twelve, and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games climbed from number twenty to fourteen.
There was one other new entry, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, but it was a disappointing affair for Warner Bros, barely scraping into the top forty at number thirty-eight.
