Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is at number one for a fourth week in a row, and is likely to remain ensconced at the top of the UK all-format game chart until Christmas.

Modern Warfare 3 sales have fallen over the last two weeks – which was fairly inevitable given the massive opening week sales – but the game’s numbers have actually gone up slightly this week, by 2% in fact.

FIFA 12 is also benefiting from renewed legs and the prospect of Xmas gaming, hustling up to number two with a 30% increase in sales. The EA Sports title knocked Assassin’s Creed: Revelations down to number three.

Just Dance 3 also skipped up the chart, from number eight to number four, while Skyrim slipped a place to number five.

Saints Row: The Third dropped to number six, shedding a quarter of its sales, followed by Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call.

Mario Kart 7 on 3DS was the only new entry to the top ten, skidding in at number eight. Battlefield 3 stayed put at number nine, and the top ten was rounded off by Super Mario 3D Land.

Outside of the top ten there weren’t any other new entries, although in its second week of release, Zumba Fitness 2 moved up to number thirty-four, a lacklustre performance considering the number of units its predecessor shifted.

Indeed, the original Zumba Fitness is still outselling its sequel, being at number twenty in the chart.
