FIFA 12 has remained at the top for the first week of 2012 in the UK all-format game chart, as compiled by Chart Track.

Sales might have been down two-thirds, but sales of all games were down by similar figures as the traditional lacklustre new year figures kicked in.

Modern Warfare 3 actually slipped a place to number three, with Battlefield 3 taking its number two spot, giving EA the top two places in this week’s chart.

Just Dance 3 was at number four, and Zumba Fitness shot up from number nineteen to number six as the new year fitness bug raised its sweaty head.

Skyrim was sandwiched between these two fitness games at number five, itself climbing three places after a considerable slippage last week.

Another EA title, Need for Speed: The Run, found itself at number seven, followed by Saints Row: The Third and then Rage, id’s shooter which has popped back into the top ten.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations slipped five places to the number ten spot.

Zumba Fitness was the only title to actually increase in sales this week, although a couple of other exercise related games were big movers outside the top ten.

Sequel Zumba Fitness 2 still isn’t as popular as the original, but moved from number twenty-eight to number twelve, and EA Sports Active 2 climbed from number thirty-seven to twenty.

Wii Fit Plus also re-entered the top forty at number twenty-seven. Expect the fitness games to continue to sell well over the next couple of weeks.
