FIFA 12 is still number one

And fitness games continue to sell in considerable numbers

FIFA 12 was the first number one of 2012, and it continues to hold that position in the UK all-format game chart, for a fourth consecutive week no less.

This is despite sales halving which shows just how strong its opening week of 2012 numbers were – relative to everyone else, that is. Of course, sales are down across the board, as expected with the post-Xmas spending blues.

The new year fitness craze has also impacted the top ten again this week, with Just Dance 3 moving up to number two.

Both Zumba Fitness titles, the original and the sequel, are at number six and number seven respectively.

In between those sweaty games we have Skyrim at number three, followed by Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 slipping to number five.

Rage, id Software’s latest shooter, continues its resurgence of sales holding on at number eight.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is at number nine, with the top ten being rounded off by Need for Speed: The Run.

More fitness game movement was seen outside the top ten, with Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 shooting up to number twelve, and veteran title Wii Fit Plus moving up to number twenty.

With no big name games out this week, next week’s chart is likely to be very much more of the same.
