Two sparkly new HTC smartphones are now available to pre-order on Vodafone, the One X and its sibling the One S.
The One X is the flagship model, with a massive 4.7 inch 720p display and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. It also boasts twin cameras, and the main snapper comes complete with auto focus, smart LED flash, and a BSI sensor (for better low-light pictures). Beats audio technology will also be an attraction for those who enjoy their mobile music.
Vodafone contracts start at £26 per month, although at that level the handset will set you back £299, and you’ll get a fairly paltry 100 minutes, plus 500 texts and 250MB of data.
The chunkier £36 per month plan requires an initial outlay of £99 for the phone, but comes with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data. If you want the One X for free, you’ll have to step up to the £41 per month two year contract, which ups the amount of minutes to 900.
The HTC One S is the lesser sibling of the X, stepping the processor down to a 1.5GHz dual-core (though it’s arguable exactly how much a quad-core is needed for Android at this point in time, anyway).
The One S is available again from £26 per month, with the same plan as the One X, the only difference being the initial lump sum payable for the handset is £199. That steps down so you get the handset for free on the £36 per month contract, once again with the same allowance as the One X.
Vodafone hasn’t made a release date clear yet, but O2 has previously indicated that the HTC One X will arrive in the first week of April. So we’re assuming an early to mid April release is on the cards.
