505 Games has bagged another number one with Sniper Elite V2 going straight to the top of the UK all-format chart this week.

Last year, 505′s Zumba Fitness spent ages at number one during the summer (some thirteen weeks, doing a “Bryan Adams” as it’s known). Sniper Elite V2 is the sequel to a game which was released some time ago, back in 2005, in fact.

The sharp-shooter pushes Prototype 2, last week’s chart topper, down to number two, followed by FIFA 12 at number three, which finally muscles ahead of FIFA Street at number four (not surprising given that Euro 2012 is coming next month, with FIFA 12 having a DLC expansion for the tournament).

Mass Effect 3 is still holding on just in the top five, followed by another EA title, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13. Kinect Star Wars is still using the force at number seven, holding off Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games.

The two big war shooter franchises round off the top ten, with Battlefield 3 followed by Modern Warfare 3.

The only other new release to break the top forty this week was Mortal Kombat on the PS Vita, which snuck in at number thirty-three (it did hit number one in the Vita chart, though).
