LED bulbs have become increasingly used commercially, not least in traffic lights and some car lights, as well as in OLED HDTV sets.

However, so far they’ve had a limited impact in the home as replacement light bulbs, because they generally remain more expensive than regular energy-saving bulbs to buy, despite the superior energy efficiency of LED.

Now Auraglow LED lighting have announced that they intend to challenge this perception with the launch of two new lines of LED light bulbs, one aimed for general home consumers, and the other for business users.

With E27 screw-in and B22 bayonet LED bulbs Auraglow hopes to push on the take-up of LED lights by consumers.

The company has also launched a new improved range of LED tube lights for commercial premises, not least the MR16 range of LED tube lights.

According to Mike Standford, “LED lights are the future of home lighting because of their unrivaled energy efficiency. However, encouraging consumers to move to LED lighting from energy saving bulbs will take time. We hope the latest range of bulbs from Auraglow help empower consumers to make their energy saving decisions more cheaply.”

One way or another, no doubt we’ll see LED lights become a normal part of the home regardless.
