London 2012: The Official Video Game from Sega is still number one at the top of the UK all-format game chart, making it three weeks in a row.

That’s hardly surprising given that the Olympics has been in town, and this is the quiet season for games, anyway. But now the Games have finished, Sega’s title may begin to slide next week.

The next two places also remained static, with Lego Batman 2 at number two, followed by the other Olympics-based title, Mario & Sonic at London 2012.

Batman: Arkham City is still enjoying a fresh burst of sales inspired by the movie, and is at number four, followed by another superhero offering, The Amazing Spider-Man. Which, interestingly, means that the top five games are all Olympic or superhero themed.

Apparently the UK can’t get enough of men and women tightly clad in Lycra, one way or another…

Skyrim found itself at number six, followed by Battlefield 3, and then Assassin’s Creed: Revelations at number eight.

Dead Island: Game of the Year edition was at number nine, and finally, Tom’s Clancy latest episode, Future Solider, rounded off the top ten.

There were no new entries, underlining the fact that this is the quiet bit of the quiet season, as it were.

As we noted last week, though, Darksiders II is about to be unleashed next week, and will surely hit the number one spot in the following week’s chart, deposing Sega’s Olympics title. Plus the likes of FIFA 12 and the Warcraft expansion are due next month as we move up a gaming gear with the autumn…
