Rockstar has announced that it will be releasing the hugely anticipated Grand Theft Auto V next spring.
So in just four month’s time, the game could be ready to rock(star) and roll. Pre-ordering will go live on Bonfire night, next Monday.
Grand Theft Auto V (GTAV) takes place in the imaginary city of Los Santos, which essentially recreates present-day Southern California. Rockstar says that GTAV is largest world it has ever created – and the game environment will encompass not just the city, but terrain miles beyond it.
Starting next month, information on the game will be drip-fed out, but currently it’s pretty thin on the ground aside from the above launch announcement.
Incidentally, the game has been announced for the Xbox 360 and PS3 – and not the PC. Which has caused some heated comments and flak from PC owners being fired at Rockstar.
The company issued a statement to say: “Hey guys, glad to see so much enthusiasm about the release announcement. For those asking about the PC platform, we’re currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don’t have any details to share about a PC version at this time.”
Which really doesn’t sound too hopeful. If there is a PC version at all, it’s likely to be a long way down the road from spring 2013.
