If you’re a Gmail or Google Drive user, you may have experienced some downtime yesterday, but Google has now fully resolved these issues.
The company posted on its Apps Status Dashboard late yesterday afternoon (5:30pm) to let folks know there was a problem.
Google said: “We’re investigating reports of an issue with Google Mail. We will provide more information shortly.”
However, within two hours, by 7:30pm yesterday evening, the issue was (apparently) resolved as Google stated: “The problem with Google Mail should be resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.”
Google noted that only some users were affected, and that they would have experienced either slow performance or “errors” (short spells of downtime).
At the same time, around 5:45pm, there was also a very short spell of trouble with Google Drive, with folks having issues for approximately 3 minutes according to the big G. This problem was swiftly resolved.
Google stated: “Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.”
