Dead Island: Riptide has taken the top spot in the UK all-format chart, as compiled by Chart Track.
Koch Media and Deep Silver’s sequel to the popular Dead Island only sold half as many copies as the original, but that was still enough for it to snag the number one spot. 70 per cent of the game’s sales came on the Xbox format.
The zombies shuffling in has pushed Injustice: Gods Among Us down to number two.
There was another new entry at number three for Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (which includes the original Dragon’s Dogma game, that also debuted at number three last year).
There was quite a bit of action this week in the top five, with another new entry at number four – Namco Bandai’s Star Trek.
While Trek fans might be disappointed to only see the game reach number four, it’s actually the third best debut week for any Star Trek branded game ever, so that’s not too shabby.
Tomb Raider has been muscled down to number five by all these new games, and Lara is followed by Bioshock Infinite.
At number seven we have FIFA 13, followed by a fourth new entry in the form of Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins on the 3DS.
Defiance is at number nine, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 rounds off the top ten. (Black Ops II has slipped out of the top ten again – and is down to number eleven now).
