As of 8:40 GTM, Twitter is still offline after a series of problems this morning.

Twitter was previously reported as down around 06:30, for around 10 minutes. However, since 08:30 this Tuesday morning, Twitter is offline yet again.

It’s not just the website that’s currently broken, but also mobile apps. Tweetdeck is also currently down, as are Twitter feeds republished around the web.

At present there is no official comment from Twitter, whose official status page does not, as yet, acknowledge a problem.

For the time being, from the UK at least, Twitter users are being greeted with the following message:

Something is technically wrong.

Thanks for noticing—we’re going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon.

We’ll update this post once Twitter comes back online, and also to report on any reason/excuse given for the outage.

UPDATE: 09:20 - Twitter is now simply inaccessible.
UPDATE: 11:30 - Twitter is now back online. Apparently users in the UK, Europe, and Japan were unable to properly access the site. However. Twitter Support did post a Tweet - that affected users were unable to access - announcing some technical issues:

UPDATE: 12:30 - some features of Twitter are still not working. Trending Hashtags return no entries, and at present there may be problems with trying to unfollow users.

That’s big news! What would we do without your timely alerts on globally important tech issues like Twitter going down for a couple of minutes. It was a potential disaster but thanks to your reporting the disaster was averted. I sincerely hope you keep us alerted of important happenings. Wait, Pete Brown’s personal blog is down. Quick, report it!
