Solar-powered toothbrush, no toothpaste required

It may sound crazy but this toothbrush requires no toothpaste to clean your teeth.

It is powered by a small solar panel, which is built into the end of the brush.

The Shiken Company, a Japanese manufacturer has totally changed the way we brush our teeth, but is it as effective as using traditional toothpaste?

The solar panel is made out of the same material as the solar panels on calculators. The power from the sun pushes electrons up from that solar panel, through a lead wire, and to the top of the brush.

The electrons at the top of the bush react with the acid in your mouth which consequently destroys plaque and bacteria. The manufactures have claimed clearly that it completely destroys bacteria cells.

Many would see this product as a great way to save money on toothpaste at first glance.

However this toothbrush has many flaws. Firstly you will most probably have to pay extra for this type of new toothbrush.

In addition when the brush gets worn down how are you going to replace it, and if so how much is it going to cost for replacements?

Yet this is still a great innovative invention as it has created an improved system to kill damaging bacteria, and we will try anything to keep our teeth healthy.
