Default Playstation 4

Anyone here looking forward to the PS4?

Got to admit, I'm waiting to see whether there will be any kind of compatibility with older games - if I can't play my PS3 or PS2 games on it I don't think I'll care much for buying.

Indeed, but there's a chance of streaming, hence my comment. Perhaps I'm being hopeful?

Probably the main reason for not making it backwards playable is because of two things. Cost and its a new line of revenue for game developers. They dont want you to play ps3 killzone on the ps4...They want you to buy the new one...

Indeed, they might want that, but would they really think they could get away with it?

Sony hasn't made a profit in 4 years. This is the company that was leading the home games market until they launched the PS3. They cut compatibility to cut costs, and sent people off to buy the xbox because of it IMO.

After all, if you're going to buy a new system, why by a Sony? Oh, gee, the big news is that the PS4 does social? That's so revolutionary! Wait, my PC, my mobile, my pad and my xbox already do that!

I still have my old PS2 and I feel like it's about time I updated but I'm kind of torn between the new iPhone and the PS4. I don't know which one I need more? All I know is that if I get the PS, I won't get much work done...

I don't understand why companies are so against back compatibility. Is it just to try and get us to buy new games? Since I still have my ps2 it's not the end of the world, but it's still odd.
