Smile Tuning in Bush 2876 NTX for Sega Mega Drive

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to tune in a Mega Drive on a huge old Bush TV (not a flat screen). I had it working about two years ago and have now tried to get it working again but can't pick up the Mega Drive signal. I have found the tuning option (press menu, hold it down and then press the white button to start auto tuning) but nothing is coming up. I have made sure the cartridge is fully pushed in and the console is switched on (with the RF lead plugged into the tv, switched to RF).

I seem to remember having this problem before and found some weird button sequence to hold or press and it opened up an option which allowed the tuning to work (not sure what it was though).

I am just wondering if there is a way to fine tune the tv or if I should be doing something completely different as perhaps what I am doing is tuning in tv channels, where in fact I need to pick up a video game signal.

Thanks for reading.
