Default SB4100 config file / MAC selection for 20Mbit

I bought a SB4100 from Lincsat's shop. Excellent service, arrived really quickly, got some other bits, cable and connectors too.

My question is this, is it a modem that has been, or can be pre-programmed to use a certain config file or do I need to find a MAC that is subscribed to 20Mbit to be able to connect at 20Mbit myself?

I haven't gotten any MACs from outside my area yet, but when I go round to someones house to scan, I'm wondering if I can just scan for an hour and use any MACs and get 20Mbit or if I will have to scan for a couple of days to seek out the ellusive 20MBit MACs.

Also, I have found lots of Light and Mid for my own area, (Leicester - South Wigston) and just one bund03.cm, is that a 20MBit one?

You can use any valid MAC, does need to be from outside your immediate area. The Modem will force the Config file as specified on the setup page - yours is already configured for 20meg, just needs the MAC

As you say, bund03.cm is the 20meg config, if you find a 20meg mac you can use it - most use mid MAC's.

If you have problems with stability on 20 meg, try this - cmbus-pkg2-nat-any.cm - it's a business config giving 10MB Down 769k up
