hi i have seen this my dad was thinking of getting one for himself but will it be any use to him.Am i right in saying it will only pick up fta channels and he wont be able to watch d+ and premier so to say

It will be fine for fta channels. It *may* be patchable but as I have no idea what make it is I cant recommend it for anything apart from fta reception.

Please note that if you are thinking of Premiere for free football next season I can just about guarantee Prem will have tweaked their encryption to stop the freebies by the start of the season.

If your receiver is patchable and has decent support, you will be able to get certain television packages open for free. Not in the slightest bit legal, but we won't tell anyone if you don't

If I were you Jay, I'd make a new thread, this ones a wee bit old and unrelated. Try the beginners forum. We'll help you from there. We'll need to know what receiver you have, and where your dish is pointing - as well as what you are interested in getting (Sport/Movies/Porn e.t.c)
