    Hi
I’ve recently bought a house and am trying to set up my tv
The people before had sky and were using a sky dish for their aerials. For downstairs I have plugged in the sky aerial and just have the basic digital tv free channels (no sky box)
Upstairs there are two aerials coming out of the wall
One is going to the sky dish outside and the other to the aerial on the roof,
I have plugged my tv into both and neither receive any reception at all. So I went out and bought a indoor aerial and plugged that straight into the tv, still no channels can be found. Just to make sure it wasn’t a problem with the tv I got a spare one and tried with that, same problem.
I then got a freeview box and plugged the purchased aerial into that and then connected it to the tv via HDMI cable but the new box also can’t pick up any signal
Does anyone know what could be causing this cheers

    Hi and welcome,

If the old tenant had sky Q you will need to change the LNB.

Sorry just read into I assume they have the LNB transmitter with the option of several holes and maybe the upstairs is selected for sky q frequency
I’ll try and fit a universal transmitter and see how I go
    Thanks

A sat cable from sat lnb only uses sat channels usually 28.2,does the the tv have a sat tuner and terrestrial tuner.
Aerial on roof would be freeview or saorview if in southern Ireland.
If previous tenant had a sky q contract lnb is different. If hybrid lnb was fitted other room could be a basic sky.
2 aerials or sat dish and aerial can you get a photo of what you have.

No signal off Freeview could mean that you are in a poor signal area. No Sat signal upstairs could be a cable fault or the cable not connected to your LNB
