The LG HT805PM comes in with five speakers – two on the left and two on the right. There’s another two for surround sound and one center speaker. All these is supported by one subwoofer making it a 5.1 Channel Home Theater.
Given a few minutes, you can easily setup the system connecting it to your LCD TV via SCART or HDMI.
The system has 850 watts of power which is, indeed, very loud. It is capable of producing very low frequencies and once you set the sub volume level to max, produces some amazing heart stopping punch. You know you have a great system if your heart starts pounding in time with the sound that is coming out of the speakers. It is amazing how the whole system sounds very dynamic and is capable of producing the highs and the lows with such fluidity.
The HT805PM is also capable of playing most existing disk format. You can play CDs, DVDs and +R/-R recordables, it can also play Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio multichannel. Various multimedia file formats include MP3, WMA, JPEG, DivX and WMV can be played directly or through a USB port.
The LG HT805PM also features 1080P up scaling which can improve the picture quality of a Standard Definition (SD) DVD to that of Full High Definition (FHD) 1080P picture by using the HDMI connection and filling in the missing details. For the ultimate picture a Blu-ray disc will provide all the detailed picture quality without the need for picture to be up scaled.
As mentioned at the beginning of the review, you will have a hard time looking for a Home Theater System at the same price and performance as that of the LG HT805TH. Its performance is simply amazing. There are other systems that are better than the HT805TH, but you would have to shell our more cash for them.
