Samsung is trying to prove that new technologies and extra features can be bought within a budget. The Samsung UN55C6500 comes in with a significant number of improvements that would definitely turn a lot of heads with its amazing design, features, and its affordable price tag.

The Samsung UN55C6500 features a four-legged stand with Samsung’s Touch of Color design to accent its otherwise black matte, brushed finish. Like most edge-lit LED TV, the UN55C6500 has a thin profile, evident when viewed at the side.

As mentioned, the UN55C6500 features some of today’s latest HDTV technology. It offers a 5,000,000:1 Mega Dynamic Contrast Ratio which contributes to amazing pure white and deep black levels. Energy Saving features have been greatly improved building on the existing environmental benefits that standard LED TVs bring. Also, it has Samsung’s 120 Hz Clear Motion Rate technology which replaces the blur with a smooth 120 frames per second fluid animation. The fluidity is backed with the Wide Color Enhancer plus technology which greatly contributes to the color accuracy by stretching the pixels to their 3-dimensional limit immediately after they are analyzed. Combined with the enhanced LED technologies, colors appear more lifelike than ever before. The sound experience is also good, thanks to the Digital Natural Sound engine (DNSe).

The UN55C6500’s worth is clearly seen through its extra features. Its excellent connectivity features includes the capability to connect to the web and access popular content normally found on more expensive sets. This includes video sites such as Netflix and Blockbuster. It also offers links informative content including retrieval of sports and other information from sites like USA Today and Associated Press. Social networking which involves Facebook, Twitter, and Pandora are accessible as well. All of these sites and links are presented in a friendly iconic interface.

Connections for the UN55C6500 include 4 rear HDMI v1.3 inputs, 2 rear USB ports, a component-video input, a VGA input, an Ethernet port, and an optical digital audio output.

As for its performance, the UN55C6500’s color saturation is excellent. This is not a surprise as this is one of the strengths of LED backlit TVs. Blacks are rich and deep and colors vibrant if not over powering at times. The UN55C6500 also does a good job eliminating motion lag and judder with the 240Hz feature turned on.
